My experience is in building and operating large-scale cloud-based distributed systems. I specialize in highly-durable and performant cloud storage services and my skills include building RESTful microservices, identifying bottlenecks, improving performance and designing fault-tolerant, concurrent algorithms. As a tech lead for a core Oracle Cloud storage service, I oversee all aspects of the backend including but not limited to: operating system (Linux) internals, cloud infrastructure management, service performance and availability. My most recent impactful work is a storage backend rewrite that improved throughput by 25%. I also retain interest in implementing devOps best practices in the areas of monitoring, observability, build pipelines and artifact versioning. On a personal note, I enjoy cooking and tinkering with eBPF.
